Our commitment
We want everyone, including clients who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or voice control, to be able to use this website and the calculators firms embed. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML with one main heading per page, landmarks and a skip link.
- Keyboard access to every control, with visible focus indicators.
- Menus, search and panels that close with a visible button, the Escape key or a tap outside, and return focus to where you were.
- Color contrast checked across every theme and palette combination.
- A display panel with larger text, higher contrast, reduced motion and highlighted links, saved on your device.
- Respect for your device’s reduced-motion setting.
- Forms with visible labels, clear error messages and no time limits.
- Layouts that work from 320px wide and at 200% zoom.
Embedded calculators
Calculators use labeled fields and keyboard-operable controls. Firms choose the colors used in their calculators; we provide guidance on our accessibility of embeds page.
Known limitations
- The 3D adding machine on the home page is decorative; a text description of the same calculation is provided next to it.
- Live calculators load from the app; if a firm’s website blocks scripts, the calculator may not appear.
